The Garden Tomb

Replica of Jesus' Garden Tomb on Camelback Christian Church property

The resurrection of Christ is considered by Christians to be the single greatest event in history. So great that over two thousand years later, hundreds of thousands of visitors return to the Garden Tomb in Jerusalem to pay homage. When Jack Thein of Camelback Christian Church heard that Tracy & Dan Swanson were two such people, he asked them to bring him some pictures and mementoes; this further inspired twenty other individuals from Camelback Christian Church and other neighboring churches in the Valley, to replicate a section of Christ’s Garden tomb. Members donated funds, materials, equipment and labor to begin the project.

The artisans of Arizona Concrete Designs, who specialize in concrete coatings, water features and other hardscapes were called in to make this vision a reality. “We have had many interesting and challenging projects over the years, but nothing of such spiritual magnitude as this,” said Deb Eaton, owner. “Workers said they had ‘goose bumps and chills’ as they worked on the project. Meticulous attention was paid to every detail from texture to color to actual size. The finished project is an exact replica of Christ’s Garden Tomb. There is a feeling of reverence and awe when you come on the grounds to view it.”

We invite you to return here whenever you wish. You are always welcome. We offer you this garden as a place of respite. We invite you to come here to pray and reflect upon the many blessings that God offers and provides. Remember that no matter what challenges and struggles you may face – He is Risen!

“… and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.” —Matthew 28:20
